41st Anniversary of Yayasan Waqaf Al Muhajirien Strengthens Its Commitment to Community Benefit Through Fifth Annual Free Cataract Surgery Program
Bekasi, July 19, 2026 – Commemorating its 41st anniversary, Yayasan Waqaf Al Muhajirien Jakapermai (YWAMJP) once again reaffirms its commitment to bringing tangible benefits to the community. For more than four decades, the foundation has continued to carry out its mission in education, da'wah (Islamic outreach), and social welfare through various programs that make a real impact on the community. This spirit is realized not only through the management of the Al Azhar Islamic educational institutions, but also through a range of humanitarian programs that reach the wider public.
One of the highlights of this year's 41st anniversary celebrations is the free cataract surgery program held through the Al Muhajirien Social Fund (ASF) in collaboration with RS Juwita Bekasi. This program stands as evidence of Yayasan Waqaf Al Muhajirien's consistency in expanding access to healthcare services for underprivileged communities, and this year marks its fifth consecutive year of implementation.
A total of 65 underprivileged patients successfully underwent free cataract surgery. Through this program, beneficiaries gained the opportunity to regain better vision quality, enabling them to carry out their daily activities more independently and productively.
The Director of RS Juwita Bekasi expressed appreciation for the collaboration that has been ongoing for five years with Yayasan Waqaf Al Muhajirien. According to the Director, this sustained synergy represents a real embodiment of collaboration between a philanthropic institution and a healthcare institution in delivering services that make a direct impact on those in need.
Happiness was also felt by the beneficiaries. One of them, Ibu Lilis, expressed her gratitude after undergoing the free cataract surgery. "I am very happy and grateful. The service was friendly, and every complaint was handled well right away. I hope programs like this continue so that more people like me can see the world clearly again."
The free cataract surgery program is one form of social contribution consistently provided by Yayasan Waqaf Al Muhajirien through the Al Muhajirien Social Fund (ASF). As a philanthropic institution under the foundation, ASF manages and distributes social funds to deliver various programs in the fields of health, education, humanitarian aid, and community empowerment, so that the benefits can be felt sustainably by those in need.
In addition to the free cataract surgery program, the series of events marking the 41st anniversary of Yayasan Waqaf Al Muhajirien Jakapermai also includes various other social activities, including mass circumcision, as part of the foundation's commitment to continuously expand its impact and strengthen its role in serving the community through education, da'wah, and social action.
