PRESS RELEASE

Al-Muhajirien Jakapermai Waqf Foundation Marks 41st Anniversary with Community Festival, Social Outreach, and Student Talent Show Featuring D'Masiv, Drawing 2,700 Residents in Grand Wisata

Under the theme "Steadfast in Trust, Advancing through Innovation, Excellent in Service," the foundation's 41st anniversary celebration was centered at Al Azhar Grand Wisata Campus and drew coverage from several national and regional media outlets

BEKASI REGENCY, August 16, 2026 — The Al-Muhajirien Jakapermai Waqf Foundation (YWAMJP) celebrated its 41st anniversary (Milad) in conjunction with the spirit of Indonesia's 81st Independence Day, through a series of events centered at Al Azhar Grand Wisata Campus, Tambun Selatan District, Bekasi Regency, culminating on Saturday night, August 15, 2026. Held under a community-festival concept, the celebration drew around 2,700 attendees — including the foundation's extended family, students, parents, and surrounding residents — and was headlined by a performance from the band D'Masiv, sponsored by BSI.

"Not Just a Number": A Foundation Measuring Itself by Impact

The Chairman of the Al-Muhajirien Jakapermai Waqf Foundation, M. Syafiudin, said the anniversary of the foundation — established on August 9, 1985 — is fundamentally a measure of how much benefit it has been able to deliver to the community, not simply a count of years.

"For us, the number 41 is not just a number, but about how much benefit we can give to the community. At this 41st milestone, the social activities we carry out keep growing year after year." — M. Syafiudin, Chairman of the Al-Muhajirien Jakapermai Waqf Foundation

He reaffirmed the foundation's core commitment at this milestone: upholding its educational mandate while strengthening learning innovation and expanding its social contribution to the wider community.

Free Cataract Surgeries Among the Most Meaningful Programs

Ahead of the main celebration, YWAMJP carried out a series of social programs over the preceding one to two months, including free cataract surgeries, mass circumcisions, and blood donation drives. Syafiudin noted that the cataract surgery program stood out as one of the most memorable initiatives, given the extensive process involved — from screening participants and performing the procedures to post-operative evaluations to ensure successful outcomes.

"Cataract surgery turned out to be a particularly meaningful activity because the process is quite long. We conduct screening first, then the surgery, followed by post-operative checks to make sure the results are successful." — M. Syafiudin

Why Innovation Remains Central to the Foundation's Educational Mission

Syafiudin also underscored why continuous innovation in education is non-negotiable for the foundation, tying it directly to this year's Milad theme.

"In education, we cannot afford to stop innovating. What we understand today will certainly differ from what children need in the future. That is why we keep strengthening and developing our learning materials." — M. Syafiudin

A Growing Network of Schools Serving the Community

YWAMJP currently manages 12 educational institutions — 10 Al Azhar Islamic Schools, one Islamic elementary school (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah), and one Islamic junior high school (Madrasah Tsanawiyah) — spread across Jakapermai, Kemang Pratama, and Grand Wisata, Bekasi. Syafiudin said the foundation wants residents, particularly those in Grand Wisata, to recognize the quality of the schools it manages and their role in preparing a generation that is both excellent and globally minded.

"We want to invite the community, especially residents of Grand Wisata, to see that the schools we manage maintain strong quality and are capable of preparing an outstanding generation with a global outlook." — M. Syafiudin

A Stage for Student Creativity, Alongside D'Masiv

The peak celebration was headlined by D'Masiv, who performed around 10 songs, joined on the same stage by students of SMP Islam Al Azhar 44 and SMA Islam Al Azhar 18 Grand Wisata showcasing their own talents. Syafiudin explained that D'Masiv was chosen with cross-generational appeal in mind, so the performance could resonate with both parents and children within the foundation's extended family — a smaller but deliberate part of a celebration built primarily around education and community service.

Looking Ahead

Through this 41st anniversary, YWAMJP said it hopes to continue upholding its mandate, improving the quality of its educational services, expanding its social impact, and preparing a future generation that is excellent, of strong character, and able to contribute positively to society, the nation, and civilization at large.
