Minister Encourages Youth to Master Religion, Science, and Technology for Golden Indonesia

April 21, 2026

Bekasi — Yayasan Waqaf Al-Muhajirien Jakapermai celebrated its 40th anniversary by hosting a symphony concert featuring musician Dwiki Dharmawan alongside more than 200 Al Azhar students from Jakapermai, Kemang Pratama, and Grand Wisata. The event marked a significant milestone in the foundation’s long-standing contribution to education and youth development.

On this occasion, Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar extended his congratulations, acknowledging the foundation’s achievements over four decades. He described the milestone as a reflection of sustained commitment to delivering impactful education.

We hope that every profession can contribute meaningfully to the nation and the world. By upholding values of tolerance and unity, Indonesia can grow into a great nation, and the vision of Golden Indonesia can be realized,” he stated in an official release on Monday (August 11, 2025).

He also emphasized the importance of equipping younger generations with a strong foundation in religious values, as well as proficiency in science and technology. According to him, these elements must be developed in balance to address increasingly complex global challenges.

Looking ahead, the minister expressed hope that the foundation will continue to enhance its educational services, both formal and non-formal. He noted that the institution’s success over the years is closely linked to strong leadership and effective management.

The progress achieved by the foundation over the past 40 years reflects the importance of solid leadership and sound management, values that are also exemplified in the leadership of Prophet Muhammad,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the foundation, Muhammad Syafiudin, stated that the institution’s longevity is rooted in its commitment to continuous transformation and alignment between its founding ideals and the evolving demands of the present and future.

“These four decades represent a long journey of dedication. Many have contributed along the way, but one thing remains constant—the spirit of giving, guiding, and building civilization through education and service,” he said.

He further emphasized that the foundation is committed to ensuring sustainability, not only in terms of physical development and operations, but also in maintaining its vision, system resilience, and moral responsibility.

According to him, what is being built today is not merely for short-term needs, but as a foundation for a broader and more sustainable future.

On the artistic side, Dwiki Dharmawan expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to collaborate with students from various educational levels, from kindergarten to senior high school. He noted the abundance of talent within the foundation.

“I see so many outstanding talents among these students,” he remarked.

However, he acknowledged that bringing together diverse talents into a cohesive performance presented its own challenges, requiring consistent practice amid the students’ busy schedules.

He explained that the preparation process took approximately three months, starting in April, with training conducted in stages according to the musical arrangements.

We worked to find the best time for rehearsals and to nurture their talents. I truly respect their abilities. Their performance was delivered at a very high level,” he said.

He concluded that the performance demonstrated how educational institutions can successfully nurture a balance between emotional and intellectual development in students.
